The Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) has celebrated another academic milestone by awarding degrees to 270 graduates during its latest convocation. The ceremony, held at the Inam-ur-Rehman Auditorium, brought together students, faculty members, researchers, and senior officials from the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) to recognize the achievements of the graduating class.
The graduating students received degrees in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials and Metallurgy Engineering, Physics, and Computer and Information Sciences. The event was attended by PAEC Chairman and Chairman of the PIEAS Board of Governors, Dr. Raja Ali Raza Anwar, who presented degrees to the successful graduates.
During his address, Dr. Raja Ali Raza Anwar praised the increasing participation of female graduates, describing it as a positive sign for Pakistan’s scientific future. He said women are making meaningful contributions to engineering, research, innovation, and emerging technologies, strengthening the country’s knowledge economy.
Congratulating the graduates, he encouraged them to explore opportunities in artificial intelligence, advanced research, entrepreneurship, clean energy, and digital technologies. He emphasized that today’s young professionals have access to global learning and innovation platforms, urging them to use their knowledge to help build a self-reliant and technology-driven Pakistan.

The PAEC chairman also advised students to think beyond traditional employment. He stressed that entrepreneurship, innovation, and practical skills are becoming increasingly important in today’s competitive world and encouraged graduates to create employment opportunities rather than simply seeking jobs.
PIEAS Rector Dr. Anila Usman congratulated the graduating class and thanked PAEC for its continued support in strengthening higher education and scientific research. She highlighted the university’s strong graduate employability and its continued progress in international university rankings.
According to the latest QS World University Rankings 2027, PIEAS ranks among Pakistan’s leading universities and has improved its global standing, reflecting its commitment to quality education, impactful research, and industry collaboration.
